Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom works hard each election year to survey the medical freedom positions of as many candidates as possible.
Being an OAMF Verified Candidate means that the candidate has indicated to our volunteers that they support Ohioan’s rights to medical freedom, including the right to informed medical consent for the individual to freely accept or decline, without coercion, medical procedures or pharmaceutical products that carry risk of injury or death, including but not limited to vaccination, surgery, prescribed drugs, and medical devices.
So join us in applauding these brave people who are running for office with a good understanding of the issues and who will champion your right to freely accept or decline all medical products and procedures — for yourself and your children. Because there is risk, and there must be choice.
2022 State Central Committee
Thank you to dedicated OAMF volunteers along with input from Ohio Promise Keepers who helped gather information to bring our members voter guidance for the Republican State Central Committee election on August 2nd.
*Please note, this is a very basic guideline to assist members who do not have time to investigate SCC candidates. The criteria for State Central Committee varies slightly from our typical voter guide. The categories, not limited to medical freedom, took into account whether the candidate supported secret voting and primary endorsements for incumbents and whether or not they voted for or supported voting slate cards for incumbents.
There were variations between some incumbents and candidates who said they supported medical freedom but then voted to endorse Dewine or were not strong on medical freedom but did not believe secret voting or endorsing DeWine- or Slate card Republicans was appropriate.
Next election we hope to have a more in-depth vetting /survey process that includes a grading system for increased clarity. The candidates that were unable to be reached or did not have contact Information with the board of elections were not included.*
Keep watching for the release of House and Senate voter guides that are coming soon.
2022 Primary Election
Our survey asked questions about where candidates and incumbents stand on parents rights for vaccine choice, vaccine, mask, and testing mandates in the public and private sector, their support of HB 248 and their willingness to sponsor or co-sponsor medical freedom legislation at the state or federal level. We also looked at any available voting records, and their medical freedom stance on their social media and political platforms. Our new scoring system provides voters with an OAMF medical freedom “grade” for each candidate.
